Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information SparkyLog collects, why, and what you can do about it. We’ve written it in plain English rather than dense legal language — if anything is unclear, email admin@sparkylog.app and we’ll clarify it.
Who we are
SparkyLog is a job management app for self-employed electricians, part of the NicheApps family, built in the North East of England. Our website address is sparkylog.app.
What information we collect
Account information
When you create a SparkyLog account we collect your name, business name, email address, password (encrypted), country, and — if you add it — your NICEIC/NAPIT number or equivalent trade registration or licence number.
Job and business data
Everything you enter to use the app: job records, customer names and addresses, quotes, invoices, mileage logs, and expense entries. This data belongs to you — we store it so the app works, not to use it for our own purposes.
Payment information
If you upgrade to Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. SparkyLog does not see or store your full card details — Stripe handles this directly under its own privacy policy.
Usage and technical data
Standard technical information — browser type, device type, IP address, and pages visited — collected automatically to keep the app secure and working correctly.
How we use your information
- To provide the core service — storing and displaying your jobs, quotes, invoices, and reports
- To process Pro subscription payments via Stripe
- To send essential account or billing emails (we don’t send marketing email unless you opt in)
- To provide customer support when you contact us
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues
Where your data is stored
Your account and job data is stored on secure, encrypted cloud infrastructure. We use reputable third-party infrastructure providers to host this data — those providers are contractually restricted from using your data for their own purposes.
Who we share your data with
We don’t sell your data. We share it only with:
- Stripe — to process Pro subscription payments
- Our cloud hosting and database providers — to store your account and job data securely
- Law enforcement or regulators — only if legally required to
How long we keep your data
We keep your account and job data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we’re required to retain certain records (for example, billing records) for legal or accounting purposes.
Cookies
SparkyLog uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We don’t use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may affect how the app works.
Your rights
Wherever you’re based, you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Export your job, quote, invoice and expense data at any time from Settings
- Correct inaccurate information in your account settings
- Delete your account and associated personal data by request
UK and EU/Irish users have specific rights under GDPR; California users have rights under the CCPA. Whatever your location, email admin@sparkylog.app and we’ll action your request.
Children’s privacy
SparkyLog is a business tool intended for adults running a trade business. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect data from, anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will change when we do. This policy is written to be clear and fair but isn’t a substitute for professional legal advice.
