How we compare

Built for sparks. Not built with sparks.

Tradify, Jobber and Taskeasy are great if you’re running a team. If you’re working alone, you’re paying for features you’ll never use. SparkyLog is built for one person.

FAQ

Common questions

Is SparkyLog only for UK electricians?

No. SparkyLog supports electricians in the UK, USA, Canada, Ireland and Australia. Mileage rates, currency and tax terminology adapt to your country automatically. See Best Electrician Job Tracking App — UK and USA 2026.

Do I need to download anything?

Nothing. SparkyLog runs entirely in your web browser. Open it on your phone, tablet or laptop — it works like a normal app without taking up any storage.

What’s different from Tradify or Taskeasy?

Those tools are built for plumbing businesses with teams, multiple engineers, dispatching and fleet management. SparkyLog is built specifically for solo sparks. See the full comparison in SparkyLog vs Tradify vs Jobber.

Can I claim my SparkyLog subscription on tax?

Yes. Software subscriptions used for your business are fully deductible in all five countries — UK, USA, Canada, Ireland and Australia. Check with an accountant for your specific situation.

What about Making Tax Digital?

From April 2026, electricians earning over £50,000 will need to submit tax records quarterly under Making Tax Digital. SparkyLog records your income and expenses throughout the year in the correct digital format.

How does the mileage rate work?

Enter the miles you drive on each job and SparkyLog calculates the HMRC-approved claim automatically — 45p/mile for the first 10,000 business miles, 25p after that. USA, Canada and Australian rates are applied automatically for users in those countries.
