How it works

Set up once. Use on every job.

1. Download — Instant delivery. You get editable Word files for every document in the pack.
2. Customise — Open in Word, fill in your business name, address, and details. Save. That’s your master copy.
3. Use — For each new job, duplicate the relevant risk assessment and method statement. Add the site address and any specific hazards. Send to the client or main contractor.
4. Review — Update your H&S policy annually. Review risk assessments when your working practices change or after any incident.

Questions

Do I need H&S documents if I’m NICEIC/NAPIT registered?
Yes. Your competent person scheme registration certifies your electrical competence and your ability to self-certify Part P work. It does not cover your general health and safety obligations. You still need risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments, and a written H&S policy — especially for commercial site work.
Is the safe isolation record legally required?
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (Regulation 14) require that work on electrical systems is carried out dead unless there are exceptional reasons. Recording your safe isolation procedure provides evidence that you followed the correct process. If an incident occurs, this record could be the difference between a prosecution and a defence.
Are the risk assessments specific to electrical work?
Yes — every hazard, risk level, and control measure is written for electrical installation and testing. Arc flash, live working vicinity, cable routing, silica dust from chasing, SWA preparation — these are real electrical hazards, not generic construction boilerplate.
What format are the files?
Editable Microsoft Word (.docx) files. Fill in your details once, save, and reuse. The safe isolation record is designed to be printed and completed on site for each job.
Will these help with a CHAS or SafeContractor application?
Yes. These documents are the foundation of what accreditation schemes assess. Many electricians buy this pack specifically to support their CHAS, SafeContractor, or Constructionline application.
