With energy prices moving every few months, it’s easy to lose track of what a given appliance is actually costing to run – especially higher-draw items like electric showers, tumble dryers and immersion heaters.

This calculator uses the wattage, how long it’s used per day, and the current price per kWh to break the cost down into daily, weekly, monthly and yearly figures. It defaults to the current Ofgem price cap rate, but the figure is only as accurate as the tariff entered – checking an actual bill will always beat an estimate.
